Biome Makers Releases 2025 Impact Report, Demonstrating How BeCrop© Technology Turns Soil Biology Into Measurable Impact
by Sarah Basiri on Jul 8, 2026 9:27:19 AM
New report highlights 1.3M hectares supported with biodiversity-improving insights, $26M in farmer profitability, expanded BeCrop Partner Lab access, and progress toward making soil health more measurable, comparable, and actionable.
DAVIS, Calif., July 8, 2026 , Biome Makers, a global leader in soil intelligence, today announced the release of its 2025 Impact Report: Better Soil Starts with Better Intelligence, marking a decade of progress in decoding soil biology and translating it into decision-ready insights for agriculture.
The report highlights how Biome Makers’ BeCrop® technology is helping farmers, advisors, labs, agribusinesses, and food system stakeholders see what matters below the surface, so they can make better decisions above it. Built on DNA sequencing, advanced AI, and the world’s largest soil microbiome database, BeCrop turns soil biology into practical intelligence for yield improvement, input optimization, risk detection, soil health measurement, product evaluation, and sustainability reporting.
“For generations, agriculture has measured the chemical and physical properties of soil, while the biological layer has remained one of its biggest blind spots,” said Adrián Ferrero, Co-founder and CEO of Biome Makers. “BeCrop helps agriculture stakeholders see what matters below the surface so they can make better decisions above it. The future of sustainable agriculture depends on data, biology, and context, and on making soil intelligence practical enough to guide decisions across every field, crop, and acre.”
The 2025 Impact Report tracks progress across Biome Makers’ three impact pillars: advancing nature-positive food production systems, supporting fair socio-economic conditions for farmers, and empowering the broader agriculture ecosystem.
Key 2025 results include:
- 1.3M hectares supported with biodiversity-improving insights, exceeding the annual goal of 1.1M hectares.
- 356 tons of greenhouse gas emissions reduction supported, exceeding the annual goal of 321 tons.
- Biodiversity Score of 64, achieving the annual goal.
- $26M in farmer profitability supported, exceeding the annual goal of $22M.
- 50K farmers adopting sustainable farming practices, exceeding the annual goal of 42K.
- 700 advisors certified in sustainability, demonstrating continued progress toward expanding soil intelligence education and adoption.
The report reinforces Biome Makers’ belief that sustainable agriculture must support profitability, not just yield. By helping stakeholders understand what is driving performance, what is limiting results, and what to do next, BeCrop supports more informed decisions across soil health, crop resilience, input efficiency, farmer value, and sustainability outcomes.
In 2025, Biome Makers also launched its largest BeCrop Farm update to date, introducing multi-crop management, biodiversity and carbon metrics, high-resolution disease maps, Best-fit Solution recommendations, Tabular View, and API improvements. These innovations are designed to help users turn complex biological and agronomic data into faster, clearer, and more practical decisions.
The company also expanded the BeCrop Partner Lab network with six new partners, increasing access to BeCrop technology through trusted regional laboratories. The Partner Lab network now includes 11 partners across 16 countries, helping extend biological soil testing and soil intelligence into more regions, crops, and agricultural systems.
The report also recognizes Biome Makers’ continued participation in global soil science, policy, and laboratory harmonization networks, including IUSS, EU Mission Soil Health, GLOSOLAN, and global soil biodiversity initiatives. These efforts support a shared foundation for making soil health more measurable, comparable, and actionable.
Biome Makers’ 2025 Impact Report aligns the company’s work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life on Land, and Partnerships for the Goals.
“Impact reporting should not be about claiming perfection,” said Ferrero. “It should be about accountability, transparency, and measurable progress. Better soil starts with better intelligence, and better intelligence starts with knowing your soil biology.”
